Cocky Leeky

The pie was cooked for 50 minutes from chilled as per the instructions. I cut it into 3 to serve our family for one of our favourite meals. The pastry was buttery and delicious in texture and encased delicious chunks of chicken and leek that were in a creamy sauce. The pie is far superior to any other and it is worth every penny! We love it! In the words of Mr Kipling Brockleby’s make exceedingly good bakes! Can’t wait to try another one!

I got a pork pie making experience as a gift. The class was 2 hours long and covered all the parts of making pork pies as well as the history of the area and the pie. It was a really interesting and fun evening out and in looking forward to baking and eating the pie I made

The Pork Pie making experience was a great Christmas present. Very interesting to hear the history of the Melton pork pie, and to see the home of the champion pie. We made our own hand raised pies to take home. The ploughman's lunch (including pork pie and other treats) was delicious, and our first taste of our own pie wasn't bad either. Well done Brockleby's!

So fair I have tried the Summer Isles Salmon Pie and my husband tried the Moo & Blue. we thought they were both amazing! Big chucks of meat in each, perfect crust and filled very generously. look forward to trying more 🤤

I Brought two wild deer with red wine sauce pies’ from the market at Radcliffe on Trent on Saturday. And I must say’ they was very tasty and very nice thick sauce. Well worth the money. This was a impulse buy and glad I did I have joined the pie club very nice.

We had an excellent meal with two different pies recently. The moo and blue was excellent and so tasty with plenty of gravy and beautiful flaky pastry. The summer isle salmon pie had a generous portion of quality salmon and a good balance with the broccoli in the creamy sauce. My husband loved this one. Again the pastry was fantastic. Many thanks for a great meal will definitely be back for more.

Proper pie ???? Excellent 3 hour course. Set at the right pace. Location spot on. Instructor very informative the history at the pie and the practical side of making them. Top notch. Highly recommended

An excellent evening An excellent evening. Plenty of information about Melton Mowbray and pies. I was quite surprised just how many types of pie that they produce.After watching how to do it we each hand raised a pork pie and took it home to cook the next day. My pork pie may have looked a bit wonky but it certainly tasted good.

Fabulous afternoon What a fabulous afternoon. We had a great time, learnt loads about the area and history of pork pies. Made pastry, filled pies, can’t fault the experience. We also had the picnic lunch which was lovely. Pies, salads, cheese, pickle, fruit, cake and a drink. Drove 1 mile down the road and ate it in the sunshine in a park. Perfect end to a perfect afternoon.

Definitely worth a visit Really informative, Claire was so knowledgeable on the history of their pork pies and Melton Mowbray. She was very attentive to all. Nice group size of 16 with a good lay out. We had the refreshments which were lovely. Would definitely recommend.

Super and most enjoyable evening Absolutely super evening. There was a cosniderable amount of time spent giving us all a detailed history of the area and pies. Ideally it would have been nice to sit down during that period.Pie making was great and our host was very engaging. I would highly recommend this experience

Pork pie - what's not to like? Really good workshop experience. Our Pie Leader, Claire, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, giving a potted history of Melton and the development of the pork pie as we know it today, before moving on to the carefully-considered practical experience of preparing and hand-raising a pork pie in the best Brockleby's tradition. Delighted to report that the first of my two pies went down a treat, and I'm looking forward to getting to the second - and then, well, doing it all myself.

Fun experience with a delicious end product! We had the experience bought for us as a Christmas present. The bakery was easy to find. Claire was an amazing host, full of history and anecdotes. A little disappointed we didn’t make our own pastry until we realised it rested for a week ???????? it was great fun and very competitive. I managed to get my case off the dolly unaided, just saying ????. I didn’t expect the process to take so long after we left, rest, bake, cook then add the gelatine but the result was delicious, can’t wait to make our own from start to finish ????

Pie making workshop & lunch - Superb! The Ultimate Pie Making workshop is aptly named! Claire lead us through the history of the area as well as the development of pork pies over the centuries. Fascinating & fun. She made sure that we were all successful & had plenty to take home.We'd chosen the optional take-away lunch. Wow! Cotton tote bag with loads of food. Pies, cheeses, salads, crackers, drink & cake. Well worth it.
